San Diego Beer Week 2011

San Diego Beer Week promotes San Diego’s thriving craft beer culture by sponsoring a ten-day countywide festival that attracts beer tourism, fosters knowledge of our regional brewing heritage, and serves as a showcase for San Diego’s breweries, restaurants, pubs, and other businesses with ties to the craft beer community.

If it hasn’t kicked in yet, yes we said ten days, not seven. This glorious holiday grants us ten wonderful days and nights of non-stop craft brew tasting, paired with a small side of gourmet grub. From November 4 – 13 prepare yourself for what will more than likely be a sloppy, yet insanely fun week in celebration of San Diego’s unique craft flavor. Rather than one huge keg party in the center of town, Beer Week offers 179+ events at restaurants and bars all over town, including the official kickoff and finale brew bashes.

There is no better way to start off Beer Week than with a massive craft beer festival featuring all of our city’s top breweries. The San Diego Brewers Guild Festival kicks off Beer Week on Saturday, November 5th with an all-day beer-fueled outdoor event taking place at Ingram Park within Liberty Station in Point Loma. With turning fall leaves as a backdrop, guests will sample local beers in a commemorative taster glass, nibble up some matching cuisine, meet local brewers and enjoy live music handpicked by FM 94/9 which will spotlight Matthew Sweet, Telekinesis and Stone Foxes; while The Bloody Hollies, Dead Feather Moon and Family Wagon will rock the Local Stage. The San Diego Brewers Guild Festival runs from 11am to 1pm. Tickets are $35 for general admission, or $55 for a VIP upgrade.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, including Beer Week. The Beer Garden & Chef Celebration is the grand finale event, and quite arguably the best of them all, taking place on Sunday, November 13th from noon to 3pm at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla. This event pairs local chefs with local breweries to create a one-of-a-kind tasting experience. Your ticket gets you unlimited access to all the beer and food. Tickets are $65 per person.
