As many of you all know, the 26th season of “The Real World” took place right here in our own backyard. If you didn’t know…well let’s fill you in. In the unlikely choice of La Jolla (many residents were not entirely pleased of this decision due to increased noise and traffic) a beautiful house, in the quiet and quaint Bird Rock neighborhood, was invaded by a group of young, wild, and crazy “real worlders.” The popular MTV show, “The Real World” calls San Diego home for a second time, and many are keeping their fingers crossed that this season will be just as thrilling as the drama-packed 14th season that involved two arrests and a sexual assault investigation.
This seasons intriguing cast includes the following: Ashley, a business/marketing grad who has never lived with anyone but her mother; Frank, a former sports star unsure of his sexuality; Nate, a popular guy who parties hard; Alexandra, a singer/songwriter/gymnast who got into Stanford at the age of 15; Sam, a girlfriend stealer passionate about gay rights; Priscilla, a young Mexican beauty with high goals; and Zach, a semi-pro football player with small-town values. San Diego sets more than a perfect environment for these seven strangers to get to know one another, and themselves, through a non-stop summer with beautiful beaches, stunning people, insane parties, and (of course) plenty of drama.
With such a promising cast, everyone is anticipating how the season will go…will this youthful group be able to side-step the usual drinking and debauchery and focus on sharing life goals and experiences? We have a feeling you will probably get a little bit of both but you’re just going to have to watch to find out. As locals, it will definitely be fun to watch the cast of “The Real World” party their way through our favorite restaurants, clubs, bars, and beaches…and hey…maybe you’ll even see yourself on TV!
