San Diego EarthFair in the Balboa Park is the largest free annual environmental fair in the world. EarthFair 2013 will be 24th annual event! Each year, the EarthFair draws around 60,000 visitors. Check out the info for some major San Diego Earth Day 2013 events below:
What: The 24th Annual San Diego Earth Day EarthFair
When: Sunday, April 21, 2013 10am-5pm
Where: Balboa Park
Description: Set in Balboa Park, the 24th annual EarthFair is the largest free annual environmental fair in the world. There will be exhibitors from wildlife preservation groups. The food pavilion will have Out-of-the-ordinary vegetarian fare. There will be earth gallery which will feature works by artists using recycled materials or showing depictions of “Endangered Spaces” in San Diego County. You can even take your kids to enjoy there as well as there will be arrangements for crafts, games, face painting, storytelling, and a hands-on activities for children of all ages. You can enjoy live entertainment, Children’s Earth parade, art show and a “clean” car concourse.

Where: San Diego National Wildlife Refuge Campo Road
Description: San Diego National Wildlife Refuge Celebrates Earth Day!
- “Hike with a Ranger” guided nature walk: 9am~11am
- Mobile “Environmental Education Station”: 9am – 1pm
Meet at the old steel bridge trailhead in Rancho San Diego. All ages! Kids activities at education trailer and on the hike. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and be sure to bring a hat, water, and snacks. Bring binoculars if you have them! Heavy rain will cancel.

What: Solar Luncheon at Earth Fair
When: Sunday April 21, 2013, 12:00 PM
Where: Balboa Park, Casa del Prado, San Diego
Description: Sullivan Solar Power will host two informational solar luncheons at EarthFair 2013 in Balboa Park to inform residents about solar technology and its latest initiative will pay Uptown homeowners up to $1,500 to go solar. The hour-long presentations will be held at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. at Balboa Park in the Casa del Prado building.

What: Party for the Planet

Where: Birch Aquarium, San Diego
Description:Visitors to the Birch Aquarium can participate in a “Party for the Planet” at La Jolla. The aquarium is located at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at UC San Diego, 8622 Kennel Way. There will be arrangements for special programs, which will focus on the importance of marine life. Visitors can participate in special hands-on activities, create eco-friendly crafts, and learn more about scientific exploration activities.
