San Diego North Park Festival of the Arts 2012

On Sunday, May 20th, from 10-6pm, venture over to North Park for the 16th annual Festival of theArts! This FREE festival has grown into a local tradition embracing a diverse line-up of bands, dancers and artists in one exciting day. North Park is known for its artsy flair, and with the Festival of the Arts, looks to celebrate all types of art forms with over 40 showcased artists.  

University Avenue will be transformed into an artistic mecca, covered from head to tow with something for everyone. At the Hands-On Arts area, children will be able to participate in interactive activities designed to stimulate and inspire their imaginations to create their own masterpiece that you can add to your own coveted collection. Adults, there are activities for you too, in particular, The Craft Beer Block! Here you can sample from San Diego’s most popular breweries, and not to mention some delicious eats, for $25 in advance or $30 at the door. 

Do not miss out on this much loved event and bring your family along this Sunday to get your creative juices flowing at this year’s 16th Annual North Park Festival of Arts! All proceeds benefit the North Park Main Street, a private non-profit organization charged with the revitalization of the North Park Business Improvement District (BID), North Park’s Downtown and the historic heart of the community. “Main Street” is a system of community-based economic revitalization that was devised by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to save historic and significant commercial buildings. The Main Street program is based on the principles of self-determination and inclusive community participation in the revitalization process. NPMS is supported by its member businesses, funds business-related activities, and improvements that benefit the business district.
