What can you do in San Diego? There are lots of San Diego things to do, ranging from the usual beach stuff like lounging on the sand and sipping coconut drinks at the numerous beachfront bars. But if you’re more inclined towards hiking, mountain biking or simply taking a stroll to get away from the heat of the sun, then the mountain ranges of San Diego offer just the ticket. San Diego is also famous for its vast array of national parks, its natural hot springs and even the world’s largest indoor zoo, all within easy reach of downtown San Diego.
One of the most popular things to do in San Diego is to check out its vast collection of sea world adventure rides, including the killer whale show, the San Diego Zoo’s “Zoo Lights”, or try your hands at any of the various water park attractions. If sea world is not really your thing, head to the North San Diego to enjoy some land-based fun in the form of golf, tennis and a number of indoor horseback riding arenas. In North San Diego, a great place to hang out is the Tijuana nightclub district, which offers everything from hakles and margaritas to old-fashioned Mexican food and authentic dancing. Play golf on the Gold Coast, or take a hike up one of the many trails in the La Jolla area.
Head into San Diego to check out the beautiful natural beauty of Point Loma. At this park you will get to see and experience the undulating waves along the shoreline and enjoy scenic views of the coastline and the surrounding tropical climate. The San Diego Zoo will give you a glimpse into the wildlife of this unique park, as will the Sea World and the Petco Park. The flower fields located around Point Loma are another thing that will please the entire San Diego family.
For a more relaxed time at the beach, head over to Pacific Beach. Pacific Beach is one of the most popular beaches in San Diego. This beach has a great array of San Diego things to do, from strolling down the beach to enjoying a swim in the ocean. There are also many things to do at the neighboring beaches, such as surfing, sailing, kayaking, and playing tennis. The nearby beach resorts of Coronado and Pacifica offer a great variety of amenities for families as well as those of all ages.
The Historic Coronado Hotel is right on Coronado Island, offering visitors wonderful views of the Coronado Bay and Torrey Pines National Beaches. Several events are hosted here each year in honor of the rich history of this town. There are tours of the historic landmark hotels of Coronado and the Historic Coronado Ferry, where you can board the historic Coronado Ferry that will take you to Coronado Island.
North of San Diego in the North of San Diego County beaches are two other popular tourist destinations. These areas have a great deal to offer the San Diego family. The Two Oceans aquarium in La Jolla is sure to entertain children as they learn about the marine world around them. The Mission Bay Park provides activities for both children and adults. Other attractions include the Children’s Park in Pacific Beach, the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and Balboa Park just north of San Diego’s borders with the Pacific Ocean and the San Diego Zoo.
