Point Loma is another hot spot with a range of San Diego things to do. This peninsula is just a short driving distance away from downtown San Diego. The peninsula has a lot of historical interest, including two military bases plus a large port that’s a haven for offshore shipping and fishing. You can go sailing, boating, snorkeling or just spend the day enjoying the beauty of its beautiful beaches and lush green grasslands.

A popular San Diego attraction that many drive to in order to see is the Pacific Ocean and all the wonderful beaches and tourist attractions that are on its banks. You can’t miss the popular San Diego Zoo as you drive along the Pacific Ocean Highway. The zoo has a lot of fun activities for you to do including the Dolphin Show, Kids Zone and Petting Zoo. If you’re a sea lion fan, you’ll love spotting the huge mammals swimming by the water. Or you could take a boat tour to see them up close.

The western part of San Diego is popular for its large number of small piers and islands. These are known as the Coronado Islands. On each of these islands there are beautiful beaches with fantastic amenities. Some of these amenities include free things to do in San Diego like enjoying swimming, snorkeling, sailing or fishing.
