With the advent of the festive season, nothing brightens up the faces of people like the Christmas light displays. The whole San Diego neighborhood is filled with holiday spirit. Different communities are coming together and the people are driving from various places just to catch a glimpse of the holiday light shows and glittering festivities!
Here is the list of best Christmas lights 2016 in San Diego:
Downtown San Diego
From November 27 to January, the 30th St. and Fern St. from Juniper to Grape to Beach will be illuminated with enchanting lights. The trees, lamp posts, roofs, and courtyards will be adorned with beautiful lights and you can’t miss it.
San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. 45th Anniversary
The theme of this year’s light parade is “It Began with a Roar – San Diego Zoo Celebrates 100 Years”. The parade will start on December 11 and 18, 5 pm. It will start from Shelter Island and by passing through the harbor, it will halt at the Ferry Landing, Coronado.
Mission Bay Christmas Boat Parade of Lights
There will be around 100 vessels all decorated for the upcoming festivities. It starts on Quivira Basin from December 10, at 7 pm. www.mbyc.org
This year the tree illuminating tradition at the Little Italy highlights two Christmas trees which will commence at 5:30 p.m. December 3 on West Fir and India streets, going down to India and W. Date streets.
It is on December 3 that the real festivities of Christmas commences on Crystal Pier at 2:30 p.m. It will pe packed with food, entertainment accompanied by the illumination of the pier tree at the time of sunset and of course, the Santa!
You must also check out the exciting holiday celebrations that will begin at 3 p.m. December 4 on the northwest corner of Camino Del Mar and 15th Street, accompanied by a tree illumination!
SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration
If there is any place more ready for the festivities, it is SeaWorld. SeaWorld is prepared and has decorated a 40-ft. tree with more than a million holiday lights and if that’s not enough, there will be an animated light show, too. You can also have a visit to the Rudolph’s Christmas town and Snow Hill with actual snow. It all starts from December 17 to Jan. 1.
Hotel Del Coronado
Commemorate the charm of the holidays and witness America’s beachfront legend Hotel del Coronado changing into a winter paradise of ice with shimmering lights, snowflakes, and glitters. Hotel Del Coronado has majestic open-air ice skating rink and DELights. The celebration at Del will be at its zenith this time. Keep the holiday tradition going by being a part of this amazing experience with your friends and family and enjoy extravagant meals, Victorian teas and festive parties!
Don’t miss out the chance and visit the Oceanside Harbor. Dec. 10, 7 pm as there will be the much anticipated Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights where boats will be adorned with holiday lights!
Have the best of time with Jungle Bells inside the San Diego Zoo from December 10 January 2, 9 am-8 pm (til 5 pm Dec. 24). There will be an amazing display of lights and carol singing of the Jungle Bells. Be a part of the celebration and the live performances and light experiences with Twinkle Light Trolley.
With its 30-foot Christmas tree made from Lego bricks, Legoland California Resort lights are the place to be. Beginning at 5 p.m. from December 1, it will continue through December 25 every night. You can enjoy live entertainment, sparkling lights, songs of festivities and dancing with LEGO Friends Live and snow flurries! There will also be nightly fireworks from December 26 to 31, and don’t forget to miss Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party on December 31!
Don’t miss out the Garrison St. & Chatsworth. Off Rosecrans. “Garrison Street Lights” which will start from December 1 to 31 from dusk-10 pm.
