Where: San Diego Chinese Center, Downtown, 3rd Avenue & J Street
Description: The San Diego Chinese Center announces that it will host its 33rd annual Chinese New Year Food and Cultural Fair February 21-22, 2015 in the Asian Pacific Thematic Historic District of San Diego (3rd Avenue and J Street). This two day event, sponsored by over 50 organizations, is an annual cultural outreach program as well as a fund-raising event to benefit the year-round cultural programs and charitable services provided to the community by the San Diego Chinese Center (SDCC).

The celebration will include lion and dragon dances, continuous live performances on stage with martial arts demonstrations, acrobats, traditional Chinese music performances, folk dances, and taiko drumming. Visitors can sample over 50 food and commercial booths. Children can make lanterns and masks in the Children Craft Area, and march in the Lantern Parade each day.

The Fair will be open on both days from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., rain or shine. Admission is FREE, and all ages are invited.


Fair opportunity tickets will be for sale for $3 each or 4 for $10 during the fair at the information booths.

Description: The annual San Diego Winter Brew Fest has extended to a 2-day event that will take place on February 20th and 21st, 2015 at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park. This event celebrates craft beverages from California and beyond and features live local music, food and several other vendors. Sample 125+ brews from 40+ breweries!

This event benefits two amazing non-profits:

Outdoor Outreach who empower at-risk and underprivileged youth to make positive, lasting changes in their lives through comprehensive outdoor programming.

San Diego Mountain Biking Association whose goal is to unite mountain bike riders, retailers and manufacturers to speak with a coordinated and responsible voice in dealing with other trail users, land managers and policy makers.

A special VIP session will be held from 6-7pm with limited attendance, music from local band Headshine and a special beer & cheese pairing. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 for the VIP session. $10 more (each ticket) on the day of the event if they haven’t sold out. General Attendance is 7-10pm with live music by Euphoria Brass Band on Friday night and Todo Mundo on Saturday.
