The Italian cultural festival is a day filled with authentic live Italian entertainment, Italian food, stickball and bocce ball tournaments, a colorful flag procession and of course the festival’s favorite—Gesso Italiano (Italian Chalk) to celebrate one of the most iconic neighborhoods not only in San Diego, but in the country. With the over 120,000 visitors that attend the event, FESTA! showcases everything the San Diego Little Italy neighborhood has been able to achieve and highlights all of the incredible things that makes this community so special. What: Ocean Beach Oktoberfest

Description: The 11th annual Ocean Beach Oktoberfest. This two-day, eclectic, beachside festival will include a variety of exciting activities, contests and entertainment with proceeds benefiting local non-profit organizations.
The event will kick off on Friday night with live music in the 21 and older beer garden and optional German microbrew tastings. Admission to the beer garden is $5, valid for both Friday and Saturday.
The Saturday morning festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. with the fourth annual Brat Trot, a fundraiser with Ocean Beach Community Foundation to promote local youth sports.

Description: Back for its seventh year, the 2015 La Jolla Art & Wine Festival is a destination for artists, breweries, and wineries to showcase their craft and celebrate art along the Pacific coast.
The two-day juried art show features over 150 artists from San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Baja and beyond, roving entertainment, family art center, a gourmet marketplace, and a wine and beer garden which will provide sips from premiere wineries and San Diego’s top breweries.
The nationally recognized, juried art show and fundraiser is free and open to the public. Since launching in 2009, the 501c3 has raised over $500,000 for local area public schools.

This annual Concerto Competition presents the chance for SDYS students to strive for excellence, while amazing audiences with their exceptional level of musicianship. These young musicians, from the youth symphony’s advanced ensembles, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Wind Orchestra, perform some of the most challenging concerto pieces ever composed with astonishing poise and skill. The musicians are competing for the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the full orchestra.
