Description: The 8th Annual Brazilian Day San Diego, Street Fair, and Parade attracts nearly 50,000 attendees annually. Embrace the cultural flavors, sounds, and arts of Brazil. Two stages full of attractions will bring some of the best Brazilian artists and performers throughout California and several artists direct from Brazil.
The Aquarela do Brasil stage will have eight bands plus the bateria (drummers) of Brazilian Day San Diego. Among the attractions direct from Brazil are Aline Muniz, Dino & Cabecao, Raggabond, Batalá, and Andre Monari and his band.
The event also includes a samba dance stage, a Kids’ Zone with face painting, inflatables, and activities led by “Nos de Chita,” a performing arts group that involves children in storytelling, body percussion, and games. This year the event will be broadcast live by Terra.com, one of the leaders in online Latino media, with a presence in 19 countries including Brazil, U.S., Mexico, and Spain.

Description: Paula’s touring schedule is rigorous. She performs an average of 75 dates per year, mostly in Performing Arts Centers and Theatres. For those who don’t have a chance to see her live, they can listen to her brilliance on her CD’s or read her in print: Her newest comedy CD, I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them in Boston was recorded during a performance at the historic Wilbur Theatre in the heart of the city and released on April Fool’s Day 2013. It follows her first CD, I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them in Maine (November 2007), recorded at the world-famous Stone Mt. Arts Center in none-other than, Maine! Paula is also an accomplished writer. Her first hard cover book, There is Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say, with a forward by Mary Tyler Moore, was published in 2006 by Harmony Books, a division of Random House. Paula is hard at work on her second book, this one for Algonquin Press.

Description: The San Diego Triathlon Classic is San Diego’s favorite triathlon. The course is set in beautiful NTC park in Liberty Station. The course starts in the calm water of the NTC park boat channel. Racers make their transition from swim to bike and bike to run in the large grass transition area. The bike course climbs to the Cabrillo National monument with panoramic views of San Diego bay, downtown, and the Pacific ocean. The run takes place on the groomed trails and paths of NTC park. Running along the water you’ll have views of downtown and the San Diego International airport. The San Diego Triathlon Classic was created by local triathletes for triatheles. The spectacular event is finished off with an epic post race party, including craft brews from Stone Brewery, and Mimosas from Barefoot wines. The San Diego Triathlon Classic is one of the most travel friendly races in the country. The transition area literally is out the back door of the hotel. You don’t even need to rent a car!
