4 Must-Do Things to Do in San Diego

What are some of the things to do in San Diego? The entire region, including all of California, has lots to offer. San Diego is a coastal city on the Pacific Ocean, famed for its great beaches, museums, parks and warm temperature. Immense Balboa Park is the main site of the famous San Diego Zoo, plus several other art galleries, museums, studios and gardens. A deep bay is also home to an enormous naval fleet, with the USS Midway and an aircraft-carrier-in-fact, open to the public

Historic Park: One of the best things to do in San Diego, if not the best, is to tour the beautiful Historic Park, which covers several small but very interesting islands in the Pacific Ocean. The archipelago was formed in the year 1676 by Spanish Conquistadors and later became a US colony. The island chain has two popular tourist attractions, including Balboa Park and Sea World, plus numerous other interesting monuments. The zoo is one of the best in the country (and maybe the world), with lots of fascinating species to view. There are also free things to do in San Diego, including visiting the historic park and the giant inflatable whale display located right on the water.

Point Loma State Park: This is another favorite among San Diego travelers. It’s not only the perfect place to enjoy the sun, but it’s also home to many other attractions. The San Diego Natural Park offers several activities, from boating and swimming to nature walks and even hiking, depending on weather and season. Other state parks near the beach offer hiking, golfing, and bicycling. If you prefer the beach, you should visit the Pacific Beach State Park just north of downtown San Diego.

Global Village: San Diego’s Global Village is one of the best places in the city to shop. It’s like stepping into another time. There are two main streets, Marlin Drive and Sixth Street, where visitors can find anything from antique shops to modern malls and restaurants. Of course, the main attraction is the Del Monte Flowers Gardens, which is perfect for flower-planting at any time. Other local attractions include the Wild Animal Park and the Children’s Zoo.

Old Town San Diego: If you’re a true nature lover, Old Town San Diego will be perfect. Here, you’ll find some of the most beautiful buildings, architecture, and landscaping in the entire country. Besides the famous “Pavilion in San Diego,” there are beautiful churches, streets, and parks. If you want to take a stroll along the beach, Old Town San Diego has the Historic Gas Lamp District, which is definitely a must-visit spot. Other local things to do include taking a tour around the Gas Lamp District to learn about the old architecture of this city.

Fashion Valley: In San Diego, you have to go to Fashion Valley. It is a place filled with designer boutiques and many other places to shop. If you like shopping and you love the style, this is definitely the place for you. Other things to do in San Diego include taking a cable car ride around Fashion Valley to experience this man-made wonder.
