San Diego things to do are not hard to come by, especially if you know where to look. The city of San Diego is easily one of the most popular destinations in the United States, hosting an estimated 4.5 million tourists each year. There are many different ways to enjoy San Diego, and plenty of options that fit any budget. Here are some of our favorite ways to find things to do in San Diego.

San Diego things to do

First, head to San Diego and you’re bound to find a lot of things to do, regardless of your age, occupation or personal tastes. San Diego is certainly a beach town, so take a stroll down the waterfront or maybe even take a ride on a train (although that might be a bit dangerous during the winter months! ). Of course, the first stop on your vacation should be the San Diego Zoo; this park is located on the Embarcadero, just north of downtown San Diego. You’ll find lots of attractions here like the zoo’s Wild Animal exhibit, the Science Center, playgrounds, the observation deck and the flower fields.

In addition to visiting the zoo, try to stay in one of San Diego’s fabulous hotels; there are many options. Some of our favorite hotels include the Historic Mission Bay Park Hotel, the Del Mar Hotel, the Horton Grand Hotel and the Hilton San Diego Downtown. The hotels are perfect for couples, singles or families. They have amenities like beach access, outdoor pools, spas, restaurants and a variety of businesses to keep you busy during your stay. If you are looking for more upscale options, head over to the Sheraton San Diego Downtown. It has an on-site spa.

There are plenty of other fun things to do in San Diego. Many tourists come to visit one of its most popular beaches, the California shore. The Pacific Ocean is only a short distance away from downtown San Diego. The most popular spot to visit here is Ocean Beach; it’s a two-mile long stretch of sand that feature lifeguard stations, surfing breaks and boat docks. The whole beach is filled with tourists, which makes it an ideal place to catch a glimpse of whale sharks and dolphins.

If you love hiking, then you’re in for a treat. Hiking is one of San Diego things to do that can be done all year round. And if you love fishing, then you’ll love catching trout at some of San Diego’s best fishing spots. Of course, if you’re looking for the best outdoors adventure you can find, then you need to visit one of its most popular beaches: Tarqui State Beach. It features commanding views of the Pacific Ocean and is perfect for enjoying some aerial view while strolling along its sandy beaches.

Finally, you should never forget to check out one of the great San Diego family fun parks. Wight Park is one of the most visited parks in the city. Located just north of San Diego’s harbor, it is home to several great surfing beaches and water slides, but also a playground worthy of all the young ones in your family. There are also a few other small parks nearby, but these are more suitable for those who want to get a closer look at some wild animals or the different native plants found only in the San Diego area.
