Be impressed with post-impressionist Charles Reiffel. You may be wondering what post-impressionism is. If you fell asleep during Art History, all you need to know is that post-impressionism is impressionism with a few changes. It keeps the basics while rejecting its limitations. The paintings usually contain vivid colours, thick application of paint, distinctive brush strokes, and real-life subject matter, but they were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms, to distort form for expressive effect, and to use unnatural or arbitrary colour.

Come see the art for yourself at Balboa Park’s San Diego Museum of Art
