Description: This week’s Friday night concert at the racetracks is Steel Pulse. The band started out with authentic roots in reggae, touching on Jazz and Latin music. In the late 80s, elements of Dance and urban R&B were added to their sound as technology became more popular among musicians. The concert is free with racetrack admission.
What: Del Mar Beer Festival Featuring Del Mar Concert Series 2012 Cake

Description: Sample dozens of flavors of cold brews during the Beer Fest at the racetrack, beginning at 1:00 pm August 4th; then stay for a free concert featuring alternative rockers Cake on the Seaside Stage.

Description: Just named one of the top 20 surf towns in the world by National Geographic, Encinitas is hosting a big BrewFest this weekend. Taking over the MiraCosta San Elijo college campus from 4 to 7pm on Saturday, the Encinitas BrewFest will feature 15 local craft breweries, food trucks, live music by local band Gone Blonde, and a VIP area hosted by master brewer Jeff Bagby. Presented by the Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club, proceeds benefit a variety of local partner charities, including the Boys & Girls Club of Encinitas and Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA. General admission tickets start at $40.
What: Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Day at Del Mar Racetrack
When: Sunday, 8/5 from 12 to 5 PM
Where: Del Mar Racetrack
Description: Enjoy live thoroughbred horse racing and special activities on Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Day, held in the luxurious Seaside Cabana at the west end of the Grandstand. Complimentary passes to this special day may be obtained through San Diego area event partners including KYXY 96.5 FM, Curves, and eLiveLife.com. Attendees must have a pass to enter the private Cabana area. There is no dress code but feel free to dress up if you like. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Activities include free mini-spa treatments throughout the day courtesy of the Spa Gregorie’s located in the Flower Hill Promenade, free drawings for prizes, a racing seminar, and booth vendors.
