Description: The Balboa Park Trust at The San Diego Foundation is dedicating new bike racks and celebrating Balboa Park as it leaps and bounds to make the park accessible to all. Interim Mayor Todd Gloria will unveil the bike racks and thank the Parks & Rec Staff who installed them.

Balboa Park is placing bike racks throughout the 1,200 acres of park space. These fun “penny-farthing” bike racks will better the visual of the Park while also increasing access to our “Crown Jewel.”

Part of the Festival proceeds will go directly to the Little Saigon San Diego Foundation, a 501(c)3, tax-exempt, non-profit community development organization.

Description: Bill Grier completed his seventh year as head coach of the USD men’s basketball program in 2013-14. He guided and cheered the Toreros to an overall record of 16-18 and 7-9 in the tough West Coast Conference. The season was drummed into high gear when the Toreros beat the BYU Cougars twice, including in the quarterfinal of the WCC Basketball Championships. Sophomore guard Johnny Dee was honored as the All-WCC honorable mention, and freshman center Jito Kok was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team.

Last season Bill Grier guided his youthful Toreros to a 16-18 record with the team playing its best basketball down the stretch.

Each month is different, with different themes, and it’s called Sunrise Surprise for that reason. Your Sunrise Surprise Stroll may include: * An animal presentation or special animal encounter * A walk to the scheduled animal visit area, where a keeper spends time in behind-the-scenes areas * The program is for adults, ages 12 and older.
