What: San Diego Comic Fest 2012 

When: Friday Oct. 19

Where: Town & Country Resort Hotel & Convention Center, San Diego

Description: Enjoy an old-school comic con brought to you by some of the same folks who produced the San Diego Comic-Con in the ’70s. The Fest will bring creators and fans closer together, to create an environment of creative exchange in a fun, inclusive environment, much as the Comic-Cons of the ’70s did. If you’ve been missing the early, intimate con experience or never got to experience it but wished you had, then we hope to see you in San Diego over the October 19-21, 2012 weekend.

Description: Great Urban Race will be returning to San Diego for the sixth year in a row on October 20th. In 2012, Great Urban Race will take participants off the beaten path to new, exciting locations within their cities. Teamwork will prove essential in order to complete the race’s various mental and physical challenges that will push participants to their limits and beyond their expectations.

Where: Westfield Plaza Bonita  

Description: If you’ve ever wanted to meet the fabulous and stylish Stacy London from “What Not to Wear” this is your chance. The fashionista will be signing copies of her new book “The Truth About Style” and will give out some advice on what to wear.

 


What:  Dragon Boat Race  

When: Sunday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m

Where: Mission Bay Park

Description: See some odd lizard-like creatures in the water? Don’t worry, it’s not the Loch Ness monster, it’s the third annual Dragon Boat Race in Mission Bay. Dozens of participants will row their crafty, dragon-like boats across the water for first place. The event is free and open to the public.

 


What: Cafe Sevilla 25 year anniversary
