What: 43rd Annual Harvest Festival

Description: The Harvest Festival, San Diego’s favorite art and craft showcase, returns for the 43rd year to the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The annual celebration of the fall and holiday seasons is filled with affordable family fun, entertainment, and great shopping!

The Harvest Festival has been the biggest and best holiday art and craft show in the San Diego area for more than four decades. Families from all over the region come to enjoy American handmade crafts, great food, and fun entertainment.

More than 300 artists and craftspeople, including many new to the show, offer unique handmade crafts and gifts. Find Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas décor, handmade wearable art, photography, ceramics, jewelry, garden decorations, hand-turned wood, children’s toys, unique holiday gifts, and much more. All products in the show are made in America and chosen by a jury.

Over 40 classic and rare “Italian bulls,” better known as Lamborghinis, will fill W. Fir Street, between India Street and Kettner Boulevard on Saturday, October 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the annual Bulls of St. Agata Charge Little Italy. San Diegans will have the opportunity to snap some photos of the most beautiful cars on the planet, while enjoying great music and roaming the streets of Little Italy. The fine Italian machinery will be on display all evening.

Description: Located in San Diego’s world famous Balboa Park, The Haunted Trail is a stroll through the park you will never forget. Enter the mile long Trail through the twisted grove of pines and gnarled oaks. Visitors watch your back, you’ll never know which way the terror will hit you. This year, visit a haunted old Plantation and Bourbon Street in New Orleans, meet the murderous residents of Silent Hill, squeeze through the crowd of creepy clowns in the Haunted Ghoul Bus, and survive live scenes from American Horror Story. True to form, the Haunted Trail is not for children under 10 or the faint of heart. Experience an outdoor terror that is simply too big to house indoors.

Description: It’s time again for all aspiring ghosts, goblins, pirates and princesses to gather on the Star of India for some ghostly tales of enormous proportions. Enjoy lantern led tours around the ship and hear eerie legends from the Star of India’s past. Hear the tales of how young John Campbell fell to his death from the rigging and more creepy events. Lantern led tours will be held from 6pm-10pm on October 24 and 31.

Description: San Diego Symphony welcomes back guest conductor Edo de Waart after his impressive SDSO debut last winter stepping in for an indisposed Sir Neville Marriner. Now Mr. de Waart returns with a powerful one-two punch: Harmonielehre, John Adams’ dream-inspired landmark 1985 synthesis of minimalism and harmony, and the famous and majestic Violin Concerto of Ludwig van Beethoven. Violinist James Ehnes is the soloist for these three performances.

Description: See beasts familiar and strange, real and imagined, kind-hearted and troublesome, from across the span of human history and culture! You’ll learn where they come from, what they look like, how they behave, and how to defeat them! We’ve reached into our vast collections to bring out unusual monster artifacts you can see and touch, and we’ve borrowed a few from other museums, as well, just to make sure the exhibit is chock-full of cool stuff.

Many Creatures, Oodles to Do and Learn Whether they’re dragons, yeti, mer-people, kraken, the bogeyman, or some other kind of beastie (and we have lots!), learn how you can beat them or befriend them. Paws and claws won’t stop you!
