Description: The FANtastic Horror Film Festival provides an outlet for Independent Horror Films. For three days, San Diego will be the Horror Capital of the United States and plans to own Halloween, with guest speakers, seminars, and film competitions.

Two-dozen films and as many shorts will be presented to the fans of Horror in San Diego. Film distributors are invited to review the best in independent horror — and more importantly, horror fans will have a party!

Where: The California Center For The Arts Escondido, San Diego
Description: Over 3,000 community members will gather at the Center’s 19th Annual Día de los Muertos Festival. Guests are invited to participate by creating altars in honor of their loved ones in a special area outside of the Center’s museum. Candles, crosses, and clay bowls will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring mementos, pictures, flowers, and other items for their altars.

The festival will also feature traditional Mexican fare, face painting, Mariachi los Caballeros de San Diego, and guests will have the opportunity to decorate their own sugar skull and create miniature ofrendas, as well as other fun activities. Guests can explore the rich history of Mexico at the Center’s museum exhibition, Colores de la Muerte, as admission will be free on November 1st!
