When: Saturday October 26th, 6PM to Midnight

Where: Downtown San Diego 

Description: Come celebrate the year’s most frightful holiday at San Diego’s premiere Halloween block party. Prepare for streets packed with the liveliest costumes! There is plenty to see and do including a $5000 costume contest, lots of live music and entertainment, 4 stages, and more. Do not forget to get tickets in advance! General Admission tickets get you no cover charges and drink specials at over 30 Gaslamp and East Village hotspots and a free ride home using the Designated Driver Program.

Hallo-wine-and-Spirits-CoronadoWhat: Hallo-wine and Spirits at the Hotel Del Coronado, ages 21+

When: October 26, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Where: Hotel Del Coronado 

Description: The haunted Hotel Del is the site of one of the premier Halloween parties in San Diego, the Hallo-wine and Spirits party! This adults-only party includes wine tasting, adult trick-or-treating, dinner, dancing and even a giant pumpkin-carving demonstration.

When: Friday November 1st & Saturday November 2nd 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m

Where: Old Town, San Diego 

Description: When you think of Halloween events in San Diego, it’s almost impossible to not think of Dia de los Muertos. The holiday is actually celebrated during the two days immediately after Halloween and is meant as a celebration of the dead and their spirits. Due to San Diego’s large Latino population, Dia de los Muertos celebrations are popular throughout the city, and none are bigger than the one held at Old Town.

When: Oct. 18-19 and Oct. 25-26 – 6 p.m. to 10 p.m

Where: Seaport Village Maritime Museum San Diego 

Description: Ghosts, goblins, pirates and princesses alike will love this scary storytelling session aboard the Star of India as storytellers reveal the eerie legends of the past and tales of ghostly encounters. Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, and creepy treats will be handed out to all who attend.

Cost:16 per ticket for adults, $8 per ticket for kids 4-12, kids 3 and under free

When: Friday Sept. 27th Saturday through November 2nd

Where: Downtown, San Diego 

Description: Zombie clowns, hanging out with Jason from “Friday the 13th,” riding on something called the “Hellevator” make their home in the Haunted Hotel. It’s all in a day’s work at the scariest annual downtown haunted house.

Where: Balboa Park, San Diego 

Description: 5th annual Balboa Park Halloween Family Day with over a dozen museums participating. Participating museums will also present special, spooky activities, tours, storytelling and other goodies.

Spooky-Sleepover-at-San-Diego-zooWhat: Spooky Sleepover at San Diego zoo

When: Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 – 4 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Where: San Diego Zoo 

Description: Get into the spirit of the Halloween season with a spooky sleepover at the San Diego Zoo led by ghostly camp director, Dr. Zoolittle. Participants get to make their own personalized treat bags and take an exclusive bus tour to visit some scary and strange animals. Families will then settle in for the night at “haunted” Camp Timbuktu where they can partake in a costume parade, ghost stories, dinner, snacks around the campfire and an optional night prowl through the Zoo.

Cost: $139 per adult and $119 per child (ages 4-11), plus Zoo admission for non-members.

 

 


Brick-or-Treat-at-LegolandWhat: Brick-or-Treat at Legoland

When: Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26 – 5 p.m. to 9 p.m

Where: Legoland, San Diego

Description: Held every Saturday in October, the Brick-orTreat Party Nights of Legoland keep several special areas of the park open late, including Miniland USA, Land of Adventure and Castle Hill. Activities include a dance party, the “Mail Order Monsters Show,” a live performance from a group called The Witchettes, a magic show and a costume contest.
