This Veteran’s Day Weekend, there are many ways to celebrate and pay tribute to our military heroes. From parades to games and even a run, there are many fun ways to celebrate with friends and heroes alike.

What: San Diego Symphony: City Lights Concert: A Night at The Cotton Club: The Music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and more.
Where: Copely Symphony Hall

What: Rock The Dome
Where: The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center
When: Saturday, Nov. 10, 17, and 24th at 7pm and 8pm
Description: Experience being surrounded by some of the most recognized rockemusic from the late 60s to the early 90s. Each show is unique since the play list is hand selected. The music can be anywhere from the Beatles era to Led Zeppelin to Pink Floyd. It is all displayed inside a giant, 76 foot dome and the music blasts out at 16,000 and presented through digital surround sound.

What: Battle on the Midway
Where:USS Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego Harbor
When: Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 1pm
Descritption: “Northrop Grumman Presents Battle on the Midway” will feature San Diego State University and Syracuse University. The two schools will duel on the basketball court in honor of our men and women who have served in the military. The game is held atop the USS Midway, and is a reminder of our ability to enjoy the outdoors, and take in a game, thanks to the freedom preserved by those in service.

What: Heroes 5000
Where: Liberty Station-Downtown San Diego
When: Sunday, Nov. 12, 2012 at 8am
Description: Come show your support for our brave men and women in uniform by cheering on those that are willing to take on the 5k run around Downtown San Diego. Wear any military commemorative item such as a camouflage t-shirt, hat, or bandanna and cheer on the runners while supporting our veterans and active duty military.

What: San Diego County National Veterans Day Run 2012
Where: Guajome Regional Park Oceanside, California
When: Sunday, November 11, 2012
Description: The National Veterans Day Run is about honoring the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces of the United States. All veterans and active-duty military are offered a special entry fee of $11. By showing support for the cause, the run is able to give back to all those that have served, and gives back 100% of proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project.

What: San Diego County Veterans Day Parade
When: Monday, Nov. 12, 2012
Where: San Diego County Administration Building/Downtown San Diego
Description: Take in one of San Diego’s finest displays of thanks and gratitude towards our men and women in service. The parade includes marching bands from 3 different high schools, and a variety of servicemen across all military branches.
In addition, the first San Diego LGBT Pride contingent will be represented in the parade For the first time since the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” gay service members will have the opportunity to walk in the parade openly with their families.

What: SnowJam San Diego
Where: Del Mar Fairgrounds
When: Friday, Nov. 09, 2012 4pm-10pm and Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 – Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 from 10am-6pm
Description: Come learn anything and everything about skiing and snowboarding under one roof. Meet professionals, find just the right equipment, and trade tips and tricks with other enthusiasts. Children under 13 are free with a paid adult. Try to find some street parking, or pay $9 at the venue.
