What: SAN DIEGO FRINGE FESTIVAL

Description: For seven days, San Diego will offer what organizers hope becomes an annual festival (modeled after the internationally renowned Edinburgh Fringe). Most of the shows, which come from around the world, last about an hour, and they run at different sites: 10th Avenue Theatre (mainstage and cabaret); Space 4 Art (indoor gallery and outdoor stage); New School of Architecture; Searsucker Restaurant.

Description: Our Independence Day celebration offers one of the best views of the fireworks show on San Diego Bay aboard any of our ships, great food, music, photo ops with “Abe Lincoln” & the chance to explore one of the most amazing collections of historic vessels & exhibits anywhere. There will be 2 dinner seating,one from 5pm-6:30pm & the other from 7pm to 8:30pm. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.
Join us at the Maritime Museum of San Diego for a spectacular 4th of July! 1st Dinner seating $35.00 for adults $17.00 for children 12 and under. 2nd Dinner seating $40.00 $20.00 for children 12 and under. First picnic dinner seating will be from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and the second picnic dinner seating will be from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

Description: El Cajon’s annual 4th of July Picnic & Fireworks at the park. We are also celebrating our Centennial! Live entertainment – Prestige at 3:00 pm, Firefly at 6:15 pm. Free carnival games, crafts, family games, skate park and kiddie train rides. Bring a picnic or purchase food from vendors. Then enjoy fireworks at 9:00 pm synchronized to music! El Cajon Police will be providing traffic control and patrols for a fun and safe event!

Description: Get a blanket and join us for the 50th annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular! Enjoy free live music, food, children’s activities, educational activities, a special performance by the 1st Division Marine Band, and much more! For the first time, the Center will open its doors for a gourmet picnic, drinks, and reserved seating for the fireworks spectacular (tickets required).

Description: Celebrate Independence Day with a patriotic weekend at the bayside Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina hotel! Offering front row seats from Harbor Island of San Diego’s ‘Big Bay Boom’ fireworks spectacular, the Sheraton will offer a fun BBQ on the hotel’s Bay View Lawn. Open to the public, the BBQ picnic will feature a Stone Brewery pop-up beer garden experience, a drum band, cash food and beverage concessions featuring burgers, hot dogs, salads, and more as well as an astro jump and special kids area, and a special visit from the local fire department for kids to take photos in the firetruck and with the firefighters. What: 2013 Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks

Description: We cordially invite you, your family, and your USD friends to join USD for some fireworks and family fun as we celebrate the Fourth of July in Torero fashion. Mother Rosalie Hill Hall’s terrace overlooks San Diego from Mission Bay to Downtown and will be a great vantage point for three firework shows throughout the evening, the highlight of which is sure to be the 20-minute SeaWorld 4th of July firework show, which begins at 9:30 p.m.

What: Art Illustrated: Celebrating Comic Art

Description: California Center For The ArtsThis summer, the Center presents a major exhibition featuring over 250 pieces of art from many of the most popular comic artists of the last 80 years. Among the pieces in the exhibition are Spider-Man, Dennis the Menace, Zits, Luann, Beetle Bailey, Sherman’s Lagoon and Family Circus. Also included in the exhibition are works by Pop Art icons Claes Oldenburg and Roy Lichtenstein and a work by contemporary Korean artist, Donghyou Son. Another highlight is very rarely seen comic art from the 1940’s by San Diego’s beloved Dr. Seuss, Theodor Geisel.

His viral web series ‘The Truth with Hasan Minhaj’ has been featured in countless publications including the Huffington Post, LA Times, Gawker, Best Week Ever, Perez Hilton, and US Weekly. He was a series regular on MTV’s improve comedy show ‘Disaster Date’, played the role of ‘Seth’ on ABC Family’s ‘State of Georgia’, and has been a panelist on E!’s ‘Chelsea Lately’. He still feels uncomfortable writing biographies about himself in the third person.

Description: Third annual San Diego Brew Fest returns to Liberty Station, promising a day of beer, food trucks, and music. Dozens of local and international craft beers, and as San Diego food trucks (food sold separately).
Cost: $40 for general admission (3pm to 6pm) and $50 for VIP (2pm to 6pm). Both include unlimited beer tastings, with VIP admission offering an added hour.

Description: The Sargent Art Group is holding an Art Exhibit a with fine art from 9 local artists. Artists will be exhibiting on the La Costa Resort Promenade. Works in oil, acrylic, and watercolors will be exhibited along with pottery, photo illustrations, and rare photographs plus other artisan items such as sling bags, art tiles and pet portraits. Rosemary Valentes’ oil paintings will be featured after winning two awards in the Del Mar Fair Exhibition of Art. A special exhibit of floral artistry by Karen will be included.
Participating artists are: Donald Pallia, Bob Coletti, Karen Fidel, Rosemary Valente, Rita Shulak, Paul Rickter, Kathleen McVey, Mary Burges, and Karen Kromer-Spiess.
