Description: Over 1000 dogs of all breeds will be at Bates to compete in this AKC licensed dog show. This popular event will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 31- September 1, starting at 7:00 a.m. both days. Classes are offered for sporting breeds, hounds, terriers, toys, non-sporting breeds, herding breeds, working breeds and Junior Showmanship. Ribbons and trophies will be awarded through 4th place, and trophies will be awarded in several categories such as Best In Show.

Description: The Southern California Plumeria Society will be hosting the 14th Annual Plumeria Festival in the Casa Del Prado, Balboa Park, Room 101. Live Hawaiian dance and ukele music and lei making demonstrations will be held in the Partio A courtyard. A Flower Show will be held in Room 104. Live plants will be available for sale. Description: David Nesta “Ziggy” Marley is a Jamaican musician and leader of the band, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. He is the oldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley. In 2013 his song “I Love You Too” won him a Daytime Emmy Award in the ‘Outstanding Original Song ? Children’s and Animation’ category, after it was used in the Disney Channel animation 3rd & Bird!

What: Little Italy Summer Film Festival

Description: The community is proud to host Cinema Little Italy, a series of eight Italian films with English subtitles, to be screened in Little Italy?s Amici Park outdoor amphitheater. With a $5 donation, guests will be granted access to the evening?s film. Guests are encouraged to dine in Little Italy prior to the film or take-out from more than 50 restaurant options in the neighborhood. The Little Italy Film Festival will be held every Saturday at 8:00 pm throughout July and August. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or wear warm jackets to this outdoor evening event. What: Festival of Sail

Description: The 2013 Festival of Sail, hosted by the Maritime Museum of San Diego, will transform the North Embarcadero into a nautical theme park. More than twenty tall ships and other fascinating vessels from around the world will visit San Diego. Every guest will receive a passport and have the oportunity to stamp the pages while touring the vessels. There will also be live entertainment at the Festival of Sail main stage, marvelous food and drink from dozens of restaurant booths, a beer garden, petting zoo, and the opportunity shop for one of-a-kind items among more than 150 festival vendors.
