What: San Dieguito Heritage Museum’s Deep Pit BBQ

Where: Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas, San Diego
Description: Have fun at the 26th Annual BBQ with the traditional ‘Deep Pit BBQ’ when the meat is cooked in the ground and tastes otherworldly. Celebrate the BBQ with the recipients of the “Living Heritage Award,” Doug and Karen Long. The tradition is 20 years strong and enjoys making the best BBQ ever. The food starts cooking by noon and served from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. The museum and exhibits will stay open for a look along with costume photo shoots, kids’ activities, silent auction and a bake goodies sale.

Walk, run or even roll to support the cause. You will get an event t-shirt during registration to manifest your support for the Mito family. What: Navy’s Original Bay Bridge Run

Description: Starting at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, the annual event hosted by the Navy raises money for the Navy’s Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs. MWR provides Quality of Life programs for more than 500,000 active duty personnel, retired military, reservists, family members and civilian employees of San Diego.
