Where: Hillcrest Pride Day Parade & Block Party, Normal St & University Ave, San Diego

Description: San Diego Pride and Fabulous Hillcrest are hosting the second annual premier event, the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party & Parade to kick off Pride weekend with urban style and flare. It’s TGI-PRIDEDAY kids.We’re shutting down the streets, bringing in the dance stages and throwing a gigantic BLOCK PARTY. Immediately following the historical Stonewall Rally, enter the gates into the Pride of  Hillcrest Block Party, San Diego.

Art-IllustratedWhat: Art Illustrated: Celebrating Comic Art

When: Friday July 12, 2013

Where: California Center for the Arts, Escondido

Description: This summer, the Center presents a major exhibition featuring over 250 pieces of art from many of the most popular comic artists of the last 80 years. Among the pieces in the exhibition are Spider-Man, Dennis the Menace, Zits, Luann, Beetle Bailey, Sherman’s Lagoon and Family Circus.

The California Center for the Arts is grateful to the Escondido Charitable Foundation and the Dr. Seuss Fund at the SanDiego Foundation for their most generous support of the exhibition. We acknowledge with appreciation the cooperation of King Features, New York; Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation, Los Angeles and the Rubin Museum of Art, New York.

Featuring four dynamic vocalists, a powerhouse rhythm section, and the hardest working horn section in the biz, Foreverland recreates hits from the Jackson 5 era through the end of Michael’s incredible career in a way that honors the King of Pop’s musical genius and legendary showmanship like no other tribute band has ever done.

Description: The Point Loma Summer Concerts concerts are FREE and on Fridays starting at 5:30 p.m. 7/12 Jumping Jack Flash 7/19 Cashed Out With Special Guest “June Carter” 7/26 Back To The Garden Tribute to Woodstock with special guests Eve Selis and Mattie Mills 8/2 Left4Dead brings back the 80s 8/9 The Bayou Brothers with special guest Sue Palmer.

Concert goers bring their own seating and/or blankets, and can order dinner from one of the catering sponsors: Stump’s Family Marketplace, Barons Marketplace, Miguel’s Cocina, and Gabardine.

Three different artist and a love for music influenced by many styles ultimately created “The Revolution”. Whose message is easy & that is to simply live life from a “Heart-Centered” state of mind & to always follow your heart & dreams.

Where: San Dieguito River Park

Description: Create art from nature using natural materials found in the San Dieguito River Park. Participants will meet at the San Dieguito River Park Headquarters for a ranger-led interpretive hike on the Highland Valley Trails to collect materials. Once materials are collected, we will return to make art. Let’s hike and gather materials from the trail & make art in the park!
