Description: More than 3,000 people will come together at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican celebration focused on honoring deceased loved ones and ancestors. This free event invites the community to enjoy live music, children’s art activities, food vendors and traditional Mexican fare. Guests are encouraged to participate by creating altars in designated squares outside of the Center’s museum. Candles will be provided, but participants must bring pictures, mementos, etc.

Attendees will enjoy entertainment from the German Cultural Committee, traditional German food, games, activity booths, inflatable jumpers and a vendor market known as Martinsmarkt. The night will end with a traditional lantern walk around the South Park neighborhood with kids and their parents carrying their hand-made lanterns, singing traditional German lantern songs.

Description: The second annual Bike 4 Mike will be a coastal-community bicycle tour offering distances of 10, 25, and 50 miles. Stationary spin bikes will also be available on-site where participants can pledge miles. The entire event’s purpose is to raise ALS awareness and funds for medical research to find a cure, and as always, put the “fun” in fundraising.
