What: San Diego State vs. Utah State – Women’s Volleyball

Description: Deitre Collins-Parker, a two-time national collegiate player of the year and AVCA Hall of Fame member, was named the head women’s volleyball coach at San Diego State on Jan. 30, 2009. She became just the fourth head coach since the Aztecs began collegiate play in 1976. She replaced Mark Warner, who retired at the end of the 2008 campaign after 13 years at the helm of the women’s program.
In 2011 she led her Aztec squad to an 18-10 mark and a 10-4 ledger in the Mountain West, good for a second-place finish. It was SDSU’s best conference record and league finish since the 2002 season and top overall record since 2003. In addition, she produced the program’s first All-America honoree (Andrea Hannasch) since 1988 along with three all-conference selections. In 2012, the team finished the season with an overall record of 23-8 and a conference record of 13-3.

Description: Rocky Long became the the 18th head coach in San Diego State Aztec football history in January 2011, and went on to take the squad to back-to-back bowl games for the first time in the program’s Division I history. Long is also the first SDSU head coach to lead the team to a bowl game in his debut season. The team finished the 2012 season with a record of 9-4 and a conference record of 7-1.
