Description: Head to the Comic-Con International for a four-day fun trip with other comic book fans. Be Super Man or Wonder Woman at the San Diego Convention Center for this signature summertime event. Comic-Con International is the largest pop culture even for comic book enthusiasts in the United State. The event attracts thousands of celebrities, artists and fans of anything related to pop culture including comic books and movies.
The Comic-Con International will feature seminars, workshops with professionals, panels, previews of upcoming feature films and more. The days will be full of sessions with the best comic book and video game companies, cartoonists and more. There will be competitions and evening events like award ceremonies and costume contests like the Masquerade. Join all the fans for this year’s Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival showcasing movies, short and otherwise, that do not have distribution deals.
Comic-Con International will also feature traditional events including film programs, screening rooms, Japanese animations, gaming rooms, and more than 350 hours of anything associated with pop culture and comic books and characters. There will be exhibitors like movie studios, TV networks, collectibles merchants and comic book dealers. Interactive programs like an autograph area or the Artists’ Alley will feature comics artists signing autographs or doing personalized sketches.
San Diego Comic-Con International is already releasing its lineup of events for this year’s convention. The program of events will include Blizzard Entertainment and a panel with Chris Metzen. The panel is named Blizzard Entertainment Showcase and will be showcased on Thursday, July 24 from 2:15-3:15pm in Room 6BCF. This panel is dedicated to Blizzard merchandise and licensed products. It also includes information about up and coming projects and a Q&A session.
Another panel of Legendary Pictures is all set to present their upcoming slew of feature films in Hall H from 12:25-1:10pm. Last year, director Duncan Jones sowed off a “mood piece” for his latest Warcraft film. The movie was done filming this May, so there is a possibility that attendees will be getting a preview of the much-hyped feature film.
Marvel Stage (#2329) will be hosting a costume competition on Saturday, July 26, 5:30pm PT. Strut your stuff in the costume of your favorite comic character and you may be the winner of a fabulous prize. There is also a rumor of having your photo being splashed on Marvel.com, talk about exciting! If you are interested in entering the contest, send along your name, costume details with photo (recommended) and any other information about your costume to Cosplay@Marvel.com before July 23 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
