The wait is over! San Diego Downtown’s latest venue Barleymash has launched the opening of its high-energy gaslamp restaurant and bar that promises to be the Gaslamp blockbuster you’ve been waiting for!
The venue looks to celebrate the richness of American culture through its hearty yet innovative bar fare and rustic brick and wood interior. Both the restaurant philosophy and menu offerings draw heavily from two barroom staples: beer and bourbon. Even the name refers to the typical grain mixture used in the brewing and distillation process of both beer and bourbon. The hope of Barleymash is to remind diners of two simple ideas: life is meant to be sipped and savored, and good times should always be shared.
If you’re a beer lover, Barleymash will definitely hit the spot as the restaurant and bar supports San Diego’s brewing community with 30 beers on tap from the city’s best micro- and nano-breweries. And for those of you who pass on the beer, there is also a fully stocked bar to suit whatever your fancy. One more idea is strongly enforced, the idea that we are indeed a community, as three large communal tables foster a sense of gathering where food, conversation and drink can be shared amongst friends and neighbors. Barleymash is welcoming San Diego into its doors as it encourage everyone to meet up at the new location at 600 5th Ave at Market St to pick up your event program for the 2012 Gaslamp Music and Art Festival that will be kicking off at 1pm this Saturday, May26th! So make sure you check out this guaranteed winner…and maybe even stop by a little bit early for the tempting happy hour specials, Monday through Friday from 3-6pm, with half-off beer, wine, spirits and select appetizers.
