Adventure: The Walking Dead Escape

Description: The Walking Dead Escape is taking over Petco Park in East Village for three-days where participants will climb, crawl, hide and slide your way through the stadium. The first 10,000 people to make it through the course in one piece will receive a limited-edition copy of “The Walking Dead” #100 variant. For the ultimate experience, get your makeup done by Greg Nicotero and join the official zombie team. A little hesitant to be part of all the action? POP Thursday Goes Comic Crazy
Where: Museum of Photographic Arts
When: Thursday, July 12
Description: The Museum of Photographic Arts is hosting a Comic-Con inspired POP Thursday event to kick off the weekend in Balboa Park. The POP party will feature a screening of Sin City, with a special intro by filmmaker Neil Kendricks — the director of Comics Are Everywhere. MoPA will also showcase comic book covers in a fantasy photo booth, live body painting, a comic costume contest, entertainment by DJ Gabe Vega and drinks and food from Alchemy Restaurant. ZombieWalk 
Where: Downtown San Diego
When: Friday, July 13
Description: It wouldn’t be Friday the 13th without hundreds of zombies filling the streets of downtown San Diego. According to the event’s Facebook page, “The undead deserve equal rights and should be treated as fairly as the living actors who portray us in pictures, television shows, movies, and sporting events!” Dress up in your most grotesque zombie attire meet the rest of your kind at the corner of 4th & Broadway by 5pm. Invasion of the Pier

Description: If you’re trying to stay away from the Comic-Con madness that will be overtaking San Diego this weekend, you should head to Broadway Pier on the western point of downtown San Diego for the ‘Invasion of the Pier’ benefit for the San Diego Air & Space Museum. This two-day ‘Con-themed event will feature a wide assortment of food, alcohol, and live music on the waterfront. Shuttles are provided from the Conventions Center and select hotels for just $1. LED Presents Dada Life

Description: Maybe the only thing in San Diego non Comic-Con related this weekend will be Wavehouse on Sunday afternoon. End your weekend partying on the beach to prominent Swedish electric house duo, Dada Life. This event is 21+ and tickets can be purchased for $50.
