Description: This weekend, sit back, relax and enjoy the show. Come out, enjoy the races and watch the sun set along with one of your favorite bands, The Wallflowers, who will perform shortly after the last race at around 7 p.m. Every Friday and select Saturdays and Sundays Del Mar will host a free summer concert! All concerts are 18 and up with the exception of the “Weird Al” Yankovic performance on Friday, August 21 which is all ages. Concerts are FREE with racetrack admission. If you arrive AFTER the last race, you will be charged concert admission ($20). Pre-paid tickets, complimentary tickets and season passes will not be accepted for concert admission after the last race. Purchase Stretch Run admission for $6 (no seat needed) and that gets you a day of racing and a FREE concert! The concert area is located West of the Grandstand. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

Sun-Sea-FestivalWhat: Sun & Sea Festival

Description: Professional and amateur sand carving teams compete in one of San Diego County’s most beloved traditions. The free, family-friendly, no alcohol event includes a street festival, farmers market international food fair, live music, and entertainment.

New this year is the Nathan’s Famous Hotdog Kidz Zone filled with kid-friendly fun and entertainment at Dunes Park with two performances of Fern Street Circus at noon and 3 p.m. and singer/songwriter Trevor Douglas of American Idol at 1 pm. Public viewing of the sand castles is throughout the day until 4 pm Saturday, July 18.

Description: Admission to the fest includes unlimited food, wine, and craft beer samples plus cooking demonstrations, contests, and arts and crafts. Attendees can vote on their favorite lemon and garlic dishes in a tasting competition.

For the kids there are face painters, photo booths, inflatables, a bounce house, and other games.

Where: Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, San Diego
Description: Join us for free coffee, orange juice, and donuts as you take a behind-the-scenes look into the world of Thoroughbred racing. Track announcer Trevor Denman hosts festivities, which includes question and answer sessions with famous jockeys and trainers while watching the horses during their morning workouts. In the Seaside Cabana area at the west end of the Grandstand.

Park in the main parking lot off Jimmy Durante. Trams will transport to west end of Grandstand. Other activities include a meet and greet with the Del Mar Mascot Pony Boy along with face painting, entertainers, and free prizes for the kids.

Description: Stolas is an American post-hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada that combines progressive elements with post-hardcore music.
